Title: un-doing a bad body lift!
Post by: ngarman123 on April 16, 2010, 10:55:45 am
i am looking to run 33x12.5 tires. i put a 4" lift with spring all around and now i have to tackle the body. whoever put the "body lift" on welded 2" square tubing to the frame. so i am in the process of cutting and grinding the frame back smooth. my question is can i mount the 81 3/4 ton cab on my 73-74? k10 frame with out any problems? i am not sure if the 3-4" square tubing was avoiding anything thanks

Just use the mounts for the year frame it should then be fine

I'm kinda confused as to what you are trying to do. You are removing a home made crappy body lift, I got that part but where does the K10 frame swap come in and why?

What I see out of his post is this.

The previous owner put the cab and front clip from a 81 onto a 73/74 frame, adding the homemade body lift.

The new owner want to know if the previous owner put the "body lift" in to avoid any possible misalignment issues between cab and frame, and if he removes it, will the body still bolt up to the frame, or is he going to have issues.
