IF IM BUILDING A CUSTOM FRAME AND I HAVE THE VIN NUMBER ON THE CAB REGISTERED, WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM?

Check with your dmv or troopers. If they say there is a problem, ask to see the vehicle code on it.

You also might have a safety issue within the law about it.

Don't even worry about that number you can't read it with out getting up and under the truck and then its all Rusty so no one even looks at them. They "cops" usually just look at the dash Vin then if you have a ahole cop he will try to open the door to look at the Vin on the door with out asking or telling you and you are leaning on it then you have to catch your self from falling lol another story. Silly new state cops

Where is this VIN number located on the frame? I have been wondering what year my frame is, I think it's a 80-81 But this is the info I have been looking for.

I am having one done right now just the frame and he said sand blasting the frame and powdercoating would be about $350 bucks.

If you get the suspension done too the tack another 150 on to it.
