Let's see some pix of your smoothed out firewalls... I've decided I'm pulling the engine back out of my 74 to smooth the firewall....

thought about this one, i'm subscribing

I believe n2trux did that on his 77, which is a beautiful truck by the way. On another forum I saw the build-up of his 77 which went from a simple motor replacement due to leaking valve guides to a full-on total cab-forward mechanical re-do including a Ramjet 350. Pretty crazy!

When you say smooth are you refering to removing the blower hat or just welding the seam and filling the firewall??? Here is my pic before i put my stuff back on.

I'm trying to decide if I should just ditch the Heater box all together. Maybe I'll just custom build a heater box with blower inside the truck. I want my engine compartment neater/cleaner.

The only thing i really dont like is that a complete smoothed firewall with nothing looks like a white piece of paper. it looks plain and blah. With a few things added like the blower hat and a firewall mounted tranny dipstick breaks it up .I didnt like the brake booster /steering column support cause of the excess material that surrounded it. Thats why i removed it n trimmed it, powdercoated it n reinstalled it w. chrome fasteners.BUT its your truck man its totally in your ideas and hands.
thanks
