subject-worn out HEI dist. vs new points style small cap dist. has anyone gone back to the old stlye? I think I would like the old style with the separate coil, opinions?
-
you're kiddin' right? Too much adjusting and replacing. HEI all the way!! HEI's have a more efficient spark too.
Why clutter your engine with an external coil? There's enough stuff around the engine as it is.

+2, why would you want to adjust your points every 3 months?

Going back to points would be going backwards. for the exact reasons as stated above.

iirc, some of the aftermarket companies make a small cap dizzy with an external coil if you wanted to go that route. It's still electronic.
Personally, I went with an "offshore" HEI style unit, rather than points.
