Title: Rear end gear ratios

I have a 1983 k20 sm 465 how many rear end gear ratios were offered in 83 and how can I find out whats in my diff
also is there a vin or serial number on the frame

If it hasn't been tampered with, there should be a metal tab between 2 of the rear diff cover bolts that will be stamped with the ratio. If you plan to remove the cover then count the teeth and divide the number of pinion teeth into the number of ring gear teeth.
