I'm thinking of going to some old school rams horns exhaust manifolds on my 78, also intake manifold oil filler tube and old school orange valve covers. Any pros or cons regarding the manifolds. I think changing plugs would be easier than headers. Am I going to lose much performance, cool sound or what. Also anyone know of a way to coat them so they stay looking nice, ceramic?

You might want to do a search

Any pros or cons regarding the manifolds. ?
I don't think those manifolds will clear the frame

I did a search and nothing came up

What's your engine specs? If it's a stock style engine, you would probably like the bolt and forget way that manifolds work. If you are looking to extract every ounce of power out of it then you will want to go with headers. But you will have to deal with replacing gaskets, rusting out tubes, difficult to get to spark plugs and starter wires. From what you were describing your setup is, I would personally go with manifolds.

You only have to worry about replacing gaskets, rusted tubes and the difficulty of getting to spark plugs and wires if you buy cheap headers.

I would rather headers any day. But eastwoods sells a manifold paint that I've heard is good. Also check out what bill hirsch sells http://www.hirschauto.com/

Depending on what they came out of they should fit. I think N2TRUX is running some.
