has anyone ever looked closely at the new silverados. on the box where the the box flares out infront of the rear tires there is a clear piece of plasic to help prevent stone chips. We have the same problem with our fleetsides. does anyone no if u can get this sticky clear plastic it would save alot of trouble with stone chips. just an idea what do u guys think.

Don't know about the sticker, but you can spray on a stone guard--kind of like thick textured clear coat.
-
3M makes a clear plastic/vinyl type film that is made for paint protection.
-
Many of these had them from the factory, but are cracked and in bad shape now.

WOW that stuff looks amazing gotta get my hands on that lol

you can also go to most tint shops for that stuff... its been around for awhile, a lot of cars have it one the whole front to prevent rock chips. it pretty cheap from what i remember

I have it on my 05 Monte and it looks discolered, granted my car is white and i'm sure the paint has fadded some so it looks worse than it probbably is.
You could check with you local body shops or dealerships and they could tell you who does it in your area.

All of the 81-87 trucks had them They are generally nasty and cracked. I spend a couple hours removing it from mine.
