Title: Transmission
Post by: Andcryr1 on May 12, 2010, 05:25:55 pm
Hey everyone....first post. Recently bought 83 K10 4x4 with 350 motor and 4 speed trans. Getting ready to rebuild engine and would like to put different trans in. Current one has extremely low 1st gear. Would like to put a 5 speed in, but not sure how or what to do. Any advice?

It basically bolts right up may have to fab up a cross member and shorten drive shaft. A hyd clutch will be in your future more than likely as well.

A popular swap to a 5 speed is the New Venture 4500. Kinda expensive tho.
