installed new tank/pump/sending unit etc. today and after the tank was up in place i noticed the fuel line feed hose was kinked.
i measured the old hoses that had taken on the "S" shape from years in that position at about 9". to facilitate the new install i cut the new hoses to about 11"-12". could this lousy few inches be the cause of the kink?
also the hose that kinked the worst is the 3/8" feed. i got this one hose from autozone and i noticed that the brand is goodyear with a blue lineing, i also noticed that this goodyear hose is softer than the other two hoses which happen to be gates. all the hoses are FI rated.
is there such a thing as different hardness for these FI hoses?
as i was forewarned from some of the members on this site making the hose connections on your back is for sure the most difficult part of the install. tomorrow i am going to drop the tank again and start over, a lot of work but this has been a great learning experience for me.
any tips would be appreciated.
thanks

Confused: So the new longer hose kinked or the old one?

If you made the new hoses longer yes they will kink.
