Title: Upper ball joint
Post by: benzesrule on May 16, 2010, 12:45:59 pm
I have a 1984 Chevy Silverado K10. I am replacing the ball joints. To get the upper sleeve out, I had to heat it up and chiseled the old one out. It was so wallowed out its a wondering it didn't get into the threads. The threads are very rusty and worn. What size tap do I need to clean these threads up? After that what is the proper installation of this sleeve and the ball joint? I have the new joint already pressed into place. Where can I get a tap to clean these threads?
Thanks for your great site and all your information!!!!
