i am wanting a 4 inch steel cowl hood, who sells them? all i can find is 2 inch.
-
I have never seen a 4" steel cowl. I would also like to have one.
-
I know you said steel, but harwood makes a fiberglass hood for 81+
-
why is it not allowed? I personally only buy from them if i can't find it anywhere else because everything is so expensive.
-
Because this website and message forum is supported by the store and members here. You can purchase a lot of parts here and if not no one has a problem with you using them just don't advertise for them here.

But the mods allow all other places to be referenced except that place. If they really were interested in it just being about supporting this site, they'd ban them to.
It's more about that place being cheaper in certain items, and personal issues....

topp you are asking to get banned yourself. Would Chevy allow Ford to advertise on their website or vice versa? Don't disrespect the people that bring you this forum.
-
Not trying to disrespect, but every other forum I belong to, they mod allow the users to decide where to get there items, with no censorship at all. It actually boosts the forums memberships because the members actually get to shop around and in some cases get discounts just for being members....
Funny, even talking about this is "walking on thin Ice".
And the analogy of "chevy allowing ford" is apples and oranges...
More like DIY4x vs ORD, and neither of those sites prohibit members from mentioning the other....
-
Topp, you've expressed your opinion. I would suggest you respect the site's policy. No one will make you agree with it. It's hard to place a value on the advice you get here, so why not just accept things and tell us more about your truck! That's what we're here to talk about. If this site had rules that I couldn't live with I wouldn't come back. The rule we're talking about here really isn't much of an inconvenience.
-
I am respecting the policy.
There is no post regarding what can and can't be mentioned...No master list of "vendors that aren't approved/mentioned"
So I have to ask/discuss, since there is no info...
-
Wasn't trying to be rude. I was caught off guard by this at first too, but understand and accept it. Enjoy the site!
-
Because this website and message forum is supported by the store and members here.
This forum is unlike most others in this respect. Most others are run off of advertising dollars first and usually have no related store. Just something to keep in mind.
In the end, not mentioning "that other vendor" is pretty insignificant relative to the wealth of information and support that awaits you on this forum.
-
It seems to be just that one though. There are several others (I am not gonna mention them) that do even more business that this site does as well, yet they are allowed...
This is confusing...It's OK if it's "A,C or E" company, but not "B or D" company...
-
they mod allow the users to decide where to get there items
No one is telling you where you can and can't buy your items. When people come on here trying to promote other vendors for items that are sold here it's disrespectful. If you choose to shop there more power to you. I've bought several items from other vendors as well as from here. These are the rules and just respect them please.
-
LETS GET BACK TO THE HOOD TOPIC PLEASE....
-
Maybe Chris is a vendor for them...
-
k, i dont want a fiberglass, so let me know if you find out who has steel ones that use hinges, not a lift off.
-
Never heard of a 4" steel version. Fiberglass would be the only option that I'm aware of. You could always grab a 2" and do some custom metal work to get the extra height.
-
Or buy a 4in cowl and graft it onto a stock hood.
-
I bought a fiberglass cowl scoop of ebay for 73-87 trucks and did some work cut the hood and made it funtional looks great and it costs it was around 90$ for the scoop
-
o and i also remember this seller sellin 4 inch cowl scoops to
-
I am locking this topic but an explination first and only.
ANY company could be mentioned OTHER than them for the following reasons.
People were calling complaining to me about their order that was incorrect, damaged etc and the never ordered from me. Guess who it was.
The same people were reporting me to the BBB (or trying to) as not sending their stuff, holding their money etc.
People were wanting to return their orders to me for a refund or exchange their incorrect parts that they never got from me.
The ONLY way they will be allowed to be mentioned is if they PAY a vendor subscription.
On top of that, all sales from me 73-87chevytrucks.com pay for this site, so you sending customers everywhere else but here take my business away. This forum is part of my business and is paid for by my business. If I don't have something I don't mind telling you where to get it.
but I do mind being mistaken for a company that in general has created a bad reputation for not knowing what they are selling you. In addition, my company, 73-87chevytrucks.com (Chris Lucas Enterprises) consists of 1 Employee, me...
-
Also, all vendors that I have are listed here in this forum.\
