Hi, i have a k5 chevy blazer. I have just recently used the truck for off road rides.
I'm experiencing a lack of power with my 6-in line engine. Last week i was climbing a sand dune and I was in 4-hi 1st low and the truck suddendly stopped.
Is it a regular behavior for a 6-inline engine (250 ci)? or mayybe i need to replace my clutch o something?
Last week i saw fumes by the clutch.
I would thank comments.

what was the incline of the hill no 6 cyl should just shut off in 1st maybe you had low fuel and it got away from the pump or something

Thanks for your answer. The sand dune has 25º of inclination.

If you don't have one I would get a tach. If your gearing is such that you were in the lower rpm's it will kill the motor, of course. For off roading a tach. is that much more important to know when its time to downshift or put it in low. If your clutch was slipping you'd probably know it and it wouldn't kill the motor--kinda the opposite with high rev.'s and going nowhere. Do you have any other symptoms or you just thought it would have more power?

25 ain't that bad. I would think it was more of a fuel problem
