Title: NP203 QUESTION
Post by: ngarman123 on May 24, 2010, 07:09:16 am
is the 203 separated into 2 separate cases? the only reason that i ask is that i pulled the bottom bolts and drained all the fluid out. and removed the transfer case and when i layed it on the ground kind of nose down (with the tail cone pointing up) i get about 1-2 quarts of transmission fluid out of one of the six adapter plate bolts holes. this could be normal but i just want to see what you guys think? i am not looking to tear into it unless i have to. thanks

Its more like 4 parts but I thought with it still installed in the truck on the back side you can remove. One bolt on the bottom and drain it that way use 10-30 or 10-40 to refill

You shouldn't have tranny fluid coming out, should be all 10W-30/40 motor oil.  If it's tranny fluid then you may have a seal on the back of your transmission wore out.  If tranny fluid is in you rtransfer case, then there may be a chance that oil is in you transmission.
