anyone know if i have to lift up the engine a bit to change the oil pan gasket? will the pan come out as is? I've had a 68 and that had to be raised about 4-5 inches for the pan to clear the crank. any idea? thanks.

Depends on what motor mounts you have. If you have the taller BB ones, you will be OK. If you have the shorter ones (that most SB's came with) you will definitely have to raise the engine.

I believe the motor is stock, as well as the mounts. so possible those are the taller ones.. any idea how I can tell?

Memory serves me right, if it's like a finger width between the pad and the cross member you'll have to raise the engine. Which thankfully, is really easy to do on our trucks. :)
