Title: changing front clips..83 to 70s

im getting ready to buy a 83 i think chevy 4x4 4 speed long bed..the drive train is a 79 but someone has put a 83 model front clip on it..how hard would it be and what all would i have to do to change it back to 70s front end..i know the body panels should bolt up i just not sure about the wipers since the 80s was on the cowl and 70s was under hood..all help and answers would be appreciated

If I remember right the splined nub is longer on the drivers side. Usually that means the hole was enlarged to get it to fit. Find the stock mechanism in a yard and see if it still fits.

If you have a donor, everything will swap back out the way it came. Your only issue would be where they had to modify the mounting holes for the 81-87 wiper assembly.  It is part of the swap.
