Title: Changing tranny fluid
Post by: Plunkett on June 03, 2010, 03:02:46 pm
I have an 86 chevy k10 4x4 with a 700r4 transmission. I'm just curious how many quarts I need to get when I change the transmision filter?

Thanks. When I was at autozone, I asked the guy and he looked it up and told me 11 qts. I knew that had to be the amount if I was removing and replacing the transmission and tc.

In my experience with 700r4 filters I found that the TCI filter was better than stock and instead of pulling in fluid from the bottom, it pulls fluid in from topside. Just putting this out here.
