I sold my 82 stepside over the weekend. Someone had made a bed for it using the fenders from a 1950's truck on it. It was the type of thing that you either love or hate. Don't worry, I won't be offended it you guys hate it. I bought it because it was rock solid. My original plan were to put the cab and nose on a 4x4 frame (solid trucks are hard to find around here). I read every thread I found on this site about using 4x2 cabs on 4x4 frames. Thanks for the info.
After owning it for 4 years and only driving it 300 miles I realized it's just another project I don't have time for. I tip my hat to you guys that can tackle multi projects at one time and get them finished.
I still have enough 81-87's to keep myself busy.

The bed is unique but the factory stepsides are nicer. I like the bed better than the visor! lol

There's a pre-'73 (between '70 and '72, judging by the front of the hood) that I see frequently at a nearby restaurant, with a later model stepside bed, late '90s, I think. The combination looks surprisingly good.

I like the 67-72s with the newer beds. I saw on at the local swap meet and it was killer. It's one of those mixed breeds that you can really pull off.
