I have read many topics on here about removing my regulators and I'm still unsure on some stuff.
My driver side window is stuck in the up position. When I press the switch up or down, I can hear a clicking sound from the motor as if it is trying to engage. I don't know if this matters or not, but I think it might, the driver side "gear" is rotated farther forward (clockwise) than the passenger side "gear" (counter clockwise).
After unbolting the two bolts and two nuts of the regulator, will the whole assembly come crashing down? If not, do I need to tape the window up so it wont come crashing down when I take the scissor arms out of the tracks? Will I be able to manipulate the scissor arms out of the tracks with the window up, or will I need to lower it a bit?
Once everything is unbolted, it all comes out the larger hole in the top rear corner of the door?
In the second picture of this link.... http://www.73-87.com/7387garage/interior/winmotor.htm Is this the spring everyone was talking about that puts pressure on the unit that can chop some fingers when the motor is unbolted?

That spring can definitely cause some serious destruction on your digits. You want to unbolt the regulator and take the regulator with the motor out as an assembly. Unbolt the wing window and rearward window guides so you have more room. Once you get it seperated from the glass and the inner track you'll see it slides out in the right position through the hole. Tape up the sharp edges if you don't want to cut yourself up.

OK I'll let you guys know how it goes.

You want the procedure? I can email it to you.

That would be better I suppose. I think I have the jist of it, but was just wanting to know if it can be done with the window up as well as what to do with the window once the scissors are off the tracks. I guess I can just take some duct tape up and over the top of the door to hold it up with a prop for safe measures.

Just take the glass out. If you want the procedure send me your email address.

I had some free time and got it done. I just taped up the window so it wouldn't fall, unbolted the regulator and slid the arms out of the tracks. I dont know what was wrong with my motor, but after cleaning all the OLD grease out of it, it works now. But one of the 3 mounting points is busted so Ill be ordering a new motor sometime. But it works in the mean time and now I have freeway AC. Vile, if you could send me the file anyways, Id appreciate it. Maybe there is something that might be interesting in there. PM'd you with address.
