Title: MSD 6A
Post by: markdilljr on June 17, 2010, 03:43:45 pm
I have a 84 C10 350 w/TH350, I put on MSD cap and rotor I still have to get the MSD wires. My roommate gave me a MSD 6A ing. box, I heard I need some special wire to make it work on with my HEI dist. My question is will the box make a difference in HP and MPG, is it worth the time to install it or should I not even mess with it and what ( wires ) do I need to make it work with HEI

You need the harness that plugs into the distributor and into the msd module. If you don't have that then just keep the box as a spare for when you do upgrade ignition systems

It's def worth the time..the typical hei falls off just over 4500rpm and typically has loss of power..but the factory did it the cheapest was possible. The msd will ensure a strong spark just shy of 7000.. not that you are reeving that high but if u need it it's there. :)
