Title: Sprinklers
Post by: beastie_3 on June 22, 2010, 08:39:50 pm
Anyone have experience with sprinklers? I have one busted from the stupid lawnmower and I want to get an idea of how to replace it. The center section that pops up when activated comes out freely and a larger tube remains in the ground. Do I need to dig up a little of the dirt to replace anything or will I be ok with throwing another unit in? Will any sprinkler head work or do I need to get one that is model specific?

Most of the ones I have dealt with just screw on to a nipple in the main line. Should be able to unscrew it, and get one that matches, or at least the same heighth. May have to dig a little depending on the surrounding soil to keep the dirt from getting into the pipe. Thats a surefire way to clog a new sprinkler head. They are normally not that expensive

Cool, thanks. Doesn't seem that hard, I like to feel more comfortable when I know something before diving in.
