Drove up to Southport, NC (few minutes drive from where I live) and decided to take some beauty photos of my truck.
My first real attempt at artistic photography. ;D

Nice truck. For a second when I read 87 V-10 I was thinking you stuffed a dodge motor in there. In my mind these will always be k10's.
-
Yeah, I understand why GM changed the C/K letters to R/V for the 1987 model year, I just don't think it was necessary. Caused too much confusion.

Been away for a while but have done some stuff to the truck...
Found some of the truck’s original sales documentation from the Ford Brothers Chevrolet dealership, where it was sold new.

The complimentary keychain with the dealership slogan: "Ford says go Chevrolet"

I intend to preserve all that I have found.
Rear step bumper was removed. Getting another OE type step bumper to replace it. I’ll keep the original bumper for later restoration.

Found the original Rally wheels the truck left the factory with. Cleaned them up, intend to have them painted back the original color and put them back on the truck when time and money permit.

Changed the rear differential gear oil. First time doing that, was very nervous... :-[

That's a really nice truck. The pictures remind me why I love these trucks so much.
Re the V10/K10 thing, my trucks an 88 Blazer. Same front as yours, yet the side badge still says 'K5 Blazer'. Was that only for the puck ups then??
-
Very Nice! Although
Ford Brothers Chevrolet dealership
What a terrible name for a Chevy dealer. They couldn't come up with anything better?

What size lift and tires do you have on your truck? Looks nice.

Conventional Cab, Crew Cab, Blazer/Jimmy, and Suburban were changed over to R/V for 1987. Since only the Crew Cab, Blazer/Jimmy, and Suburban continued production up to 1991, those kept the R/V designation.
Your Blazer is a V, despite the K on the badge. I guess GM didn’t feel that it was necessary to change the badges over.

It has a 4 inch Trail Master suspension lift that’s nearly as old as the truck itself. Was added in 1993 (not by me) by my father after he purchased the truck from it’s original owner.
The tires are 33x12.50 R15 BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires.

Thanks for clearing that up.
Do you know how deep those beauty rings are on your Rally wheels?? I wanna get a set for mine, but don’t know whether to go for the 2 inch or 3 inch ones....
-
I went out to the shed and measured them, they’re 3 inches, not including the edge of the rings that overlaps the wheel's edge.
