Hi there i have a 83 chevy k10 shortbox 4x4 that has a 350 with a 700r4 tranny. I bought a 87 suburban with a 6.2 diesel and a rebuilt 700r4 tranny that was beefed up. I bought the truck cheap for parts for my shortbox and my tranny is a bit on the weak side.. Just wondering what the differences are between the gas and diesel transmissions and if it would work for me?? I have been told different torque convertors, and a governor anything else? Would it be worth it to put this tranny in or should i sell it and buy a gas one? any info is greatly appreciated. thanks

Essentially just the converter stall speed. Otherwise run the diesel 700R4

Thanks, so i should change the convertor and not worry about the governor and it will be good or don't do anything? Apreciate the help :)

See how it shifts and if you aren't happy with it you can easily tweak it with a transgo reprogramming kit.
