Hey guys just bought my first 73-87 and its 80miles from me and doesn't run at the moment. Looking to get a car dolly but was wondering how much an 86 sierra weights? Its 4x2, single cab, LWB

I have used car dolly years ago to move full size trucks. You will need to make sure it will fit between the fenders though. I borrowed one when I was allot younger, drove all the way there and found out with stock tires it was about 2" to wide!
I don't know exact weight, but it can't be much more than 5,500 to 6,000 lbs.

Yeah I remember helping my brother tow his 1998 Chevy 2500 Long Bed like 400 miles with both tires hanging 2" over each side but it worked lol. Just wasn't sure how much these weight. I am planning on doing that anyways but figured its best to be more informed. Every car I have ever tried to look up the weight on I can never find anything. Will either get a trailer from a friend or rent a car dolly. So thanks for reply.
Hopefully soon after that I will begin the LWB to SWB conversion =)

if its a half ton, ought to be around 4500lbs. thats what my 87 lwb 4x2 sb weighed.
If its a 3/4 ton, could be from 4900-5200. Mine weighs 5000# even

I would just rent a car trailer from Uhaul. I used one before to pick up an 87 2WD 6' stepside and it fit fine.
Keep in mind that in many states the vehicle being towed on the car dolly has to be registered because 2 wheels are still on the road.Might not be a problem, just something to be aware on.
