Title: dash grain repair?
Post by: DnStClr on July 13, 2010, 06:14:30 pm
Has anyone ever been able to repair the grain on the dash? Dash isn't cracked-but it has a 2"x2" spot right in the middle front where the grain has been sanded by p.o. and needs fixed.

Got pix? I had a vinyl repair kit which was a joke but I used the grain paper that came with it and sprayed primer on an old dash pad I had. Before it dried I dabbed the grain paper to simulate the texture. When I was happy with it I used vinyl black paint and painted the whole dash and it looked pretty good.

Yes here's a coupla pics. I'm thinking that a new coat of SEM might hide the scuff mark pretty well.

yeah, buff it in a little with a bit of steel wool if you have to or just shoot it and see what it looks like.
