Looking to install a flip kit (5") on the rear of my swb fleetside. I want to run a 15"x10" rally rim with 295/50/15 BFG. I want to make sure I order the right wheels (backspace) to fit the drop and the 295's.
Is a 12bolt w/5 on 5, 5lug if any of that matters. In fact - looking at the HD leaf pack, I'm not sure how a flip kit will work - there seems barely enough room for the axle between the top of the springs and the rails. Does that sound right? I want to avoid C-notch the frame if I can get the stance I want without it.
Anyone know the correct backspace I need to order for my rims?
Thanks,
G.

Post a pic of the leaf pack/rear end, there should be enough room to do the flip unless someone has removed leafs from the pack. From what I have been told you need the c-notch if you drop 6" or more, I would do the c-notch anyway so you have enough travel room if you need to haul anything or come across some large bumps

How many leafs are in you leaf pack?
You should be able to run about 14" wide tires in there if I remember correctly and not rub.
Backspacing would have to be about 6" I think, but a 10" rim with 295's only needs about 5" and it will fit.

You should be able to fit 325/50R15"s with a 10" wide wheel with the axle flipped but you better make sure those are good springs if you aren't going to notch it.

to add to notch not notch, I would HIGHLY recommend notching one.

Even if you don't notch it, atleast cut off your factory bumpstop/bracket and replace it with a shorter on, if you dont it's gonna be a rough ride.

I have a 1984 short box with a flip kit , with no notch kit , it does not bottom out . it does not jump wen spinning the tires ( 28X12.00R15LT MT) my rims are 15x10 with a BS of 5" or offset of 0.

What kind of rims do you have on your truck?
