My truck is a 84 C10 350/TH350 I am trying to clean up under the hood, I have a vac line coming out of the fire wall and it goes up above the Dist. and is hanging open, and this ball style canister goes to the tee in the main vac port on the intake manifold, what is it for and can I remove it and plug the tee. Looking for some advice, thanks

mark you got historic tags on your truck?
-
No why, historic tags out here are no diff then reg tags, still has to pass smog, no visual or saftey check

My vac. lines were almost all gone by the time I got my truck, but I think the canister on the driver's side is for cruise control. At least that's what the line with the tee in it went to on mine. I can't tell what you're pointing at in the first pic.

In the first pic I am pointing at the hose coming out of the firewall, it looks like a vac line to me and it goes up above the dist. and is cut off and hanging there. I dont know what it is for or where it goes, when the truck is running there is no vac in or out of the line, I need to know what it is for and where it goes, thanks

I think the first pic is the vac line that goes in to the switch on the brake pedal. That shuts off the cruise when you tap the brake. If you can trace it back to the brake pedal you will know for sure. The line by the dist. probably used to go to the CC vac diaphragm on the intake that has a rod that goes to the throttle on the carb. The round vac can is most likely also for the cruise, but you should check for another one like it on the firewall by the heater box. There should be one over there too. If you have that one you can probably do without the one in the pic.

I think the vac. reservoir on the passenger side is for hvac system.
