Title: Headlight Adjustment
Post by: Grim 82 on July 30, 2010, 10:32:51 am
I am wondering if anybody knows the correct distances and elevations to measure and adjust headlamps on these trucks. Is there a definitive procedure from a service manual, or do you just have to trial and error? I know lift and tire size changes everything, but I would like to have a baseline to start with. Thanks
Mine is an 82 with the 4 headlights.

Call up your dmv and ask them I can't remember but I think its if you stand 15 feet away the lows are nore suposed to be in you eyes and not focused on the ground high beams I think are supposed to be in your eyes or chest area

Only correct way is to use head light aiming tool / machine. Personally I just use the garage door form about 40' away.

Right on. I will have to make a trip out to the shop after dark and get them pointed in the right direction.
I guess it never occured to me to think of DOT regulations. I will look into that. Thanks
