So since I've finally got her running, for about 2 weeks now shes done good. I know my gauges for oil pressure and temp are stuck but heres the new problem. Driving home from work, about 10 min drive, the truck just died. I pull over open the hood and the radiator hose on the driver side is hissing and spitting out some anti freeze. No smoke from under the hood and didnt feel extremely hot at all. Started her up like nothing and went home fine. Then it did it going to work right out the driveway!I ask a buddy of mine what he thinks (hes building a 73 and built a 68) he says check the lower radiator hose. it might be worn and spring broke and will cause it to fall in on itself stopping flow. I checked and its good the top one is new! I drained and flushed the radiator and got new fluids and it ran just fine. Well cruising around last night about 45 min does it again. Goes to work and home fine, but after about that 45 min period just dies!!! What could it be?

Overheating may be as simple as a thermostat. The truck cutting off may be the pick up coil if no spark. You may need a new gas filter if it is fuel related. How good is your radiator cap?

Fuel filter is new! The cap is good! The radiator leaks gone. I'm not sure about the thermostat because it wasnt even hot on the 10 min drive or backing out of the driveway. Wouldnt hurt to change it though. Even after my long cruise last night it wasnt really hot. started right up and went right home like nothing ever happened!

I would fix those gauges with after market ones to by some good readings or fix yours. Could be a spark problem maybe heat is affecting it

The thermostat is a good place to start on the overheating, as far as the dying issue it could be vapor locking or the ign module.
