About to put my new heads on my 350 in my 86 k10 and wondering what thread sealer I should go with? I'm runing a 350 bored 040 26cc dish piston stock deck height 416 heads milled 025 felpro 016shim gasket with copper sealer sprayed on and new head bolts.

Well I opened the boxes to the new head bolts I bought and found out they are the new felpros with sealer already on the treads and the smaller 1/2 heads.

Well then problem solved. I am going to be starting on a rebuild in about 2 months, after my surgery. I just got another truck and it has a blown head gasket, so I figured that it is time for a rebuild of all the running gear, since it is my second truck and I can leave it parked while working on it. I hope you do not run into any problems with your project.

Well I hope I don't run into any more problems that is lol. The shortblock is new but I used my old heads hoping they would be ok with a valve seal and spring change and I ended up having some valves not seating right. Also replaced the transmisson when this motor when in and the pass side headgasket started leaking Into the no.4 cyl. Hopefully this time ill have better luck lol

Can't remember what its for but I want to say the copper stuff is made for that. Someone please remind me What its made for lol
-
What copper stuff?
Head bolts depending on type and location either require dry installation, dipped in motor oil, or thread sealant like permatex high temp thread sealant. Don't use pipe dope or rtv.
Sealants with copper are for high temp applications and work good on exhaust connections.

Couldn't Remember what it was for but it came in a jar like anti seize. But it was copper the jar and paste

no this was a permitex spray it wasnt a paste. got it fired up today and had a valve a lil too light at first but got it worked out and took her for a spin and that thing hauls lol sprung a leak from a trans cooler line though :/ gona post up a video of a idle rev with the new exhaust in a few mins in the performance section under my exhaust thread.
