Title: sending unit replacement.

ok so i am replacing my sending unit and the one i bought is facing the wrong way. if you line up the 2 "keys" with the ring in the tank the ports are facing away from the frame. can i cut one of the tabs off and turn it 180? i dont think it should effect the float being 180 out maybe 90 degrees but i am not sure? any input

Sounds like you just need to return it and get the right one.  Left and Right tank units are different.
