Title: 1987 C-10 information
Post by: matt77 on August 07, 2010, 11:01:25 pm
Does anyone know a webbsite where I can find production numbers for my C-10? I Just purchased a VERY nice survivor that is a 3 on the tree, V6, Short bed. I have had several "car guys" tell me that this is an unusual combination for an 87.

cant help you with the production numbers but I'm sure 3 on the tree has to be from an older truck like 84

Not quite sure what you are looking for but if it's an 87 2wd it's an R10 not a C10. You can Decode the vin and look up the RPO codes if they're still in the glovebox on the spid label.

are all 87s r? or would it be the late model ones. i think he was asking how "rare" his truck is with that setup and that being said it has to be custom with a tree on the tree as far as i know could be wrong would be the first and last

C=2wd K=4wd

in 1987 -1991 these trucks changed designations

R=2wd V=4wd

I had a customer with an 86 with manual brakes, manual steering 3 on the tree. Not sure what year they gave up on selling trucks that require an OX to operate.

Not an unusual setup.  GM isn't giving out numbers for truck probably because there were so many sold.  If they were, this site would have gotten them already.
