The spot weld gun attaches easily to your home arc welder set at 60 amps or less
Do you have an arc welder?
I may be interested in that myself.  I have an arc welder, and the price is right.  I'd be curious if anyone has used that.

Yes I have a Lincoln AC 225 stick welder. And I am wondering the same thing.

Personally I've always found mig (gas) more user friendly and controlable.

If you burn threw it then what. With a wire you can patch any hole don't care how big it is. We has a saying in the shop if you can spit across it I can weld it lol. Never tried it tho we were always with in 1/2
