How much is too much, keep in mind ordering online is going to be at least $150 to truck freight it.

Where are you located?

I'm in thunder bay ontario, about half an hour from the minnesota border so shipping in the states dont matter much, i always order my stuff from there anyways, save alot more money. my limits about 2 grand i guess, i found one from monster transmissions with free shipping also i need to know what else i needa to convert my truck from a th350 to a th400.

I'll be watching for the answers as I've wondered about these same things. I want to upgrade from my th350 to a th400 at some point, as well!

Drive shaft needs to be shortened and the input shaft is different. The TH400 uses an electric kickdown also.
-
Did you look for a used one?
-
how much power you planing on pushing?
mild th400 run 1200-1300 convertors are interchangeable.

i had looked for used ones, but coudlnt find any in town, not for a decent pice anyways or in decent shape. the drive shafts i knew about i have driveshafts that came off a th400 truck, i was gonna change my cam also, have no idea whats in the truck now, soo might as well just order a new one to match my converter.any ideas on cams? where i can find them or what are good?
