Daytonians seem to have a thing about seeing if their cars can fly...Some nimrod in Xenia sailed his S10 60 feet earlier this year.

That's what i call a successful high speed pursuit.  No one hurt except who should be.  I saw that in the news the other day, the driver actually survived his car being knocked into 3 pieces.  He's in critical condition. Hard to believe. Pardon the pun, but he was FLYIN'!

That's the route I take to work in the morning. I missed seeing it live by 20 mins.

Dude is 19 and got caught in the parking lot of a closed bowling ally with a 15 year old girl around 5am. He had unopened cans of beer, trace marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in the car. The cop that caught them arrested him and called the girls dad. The dad showed up and took the girl home(THANK God!!!!!!) and the cop released the dude on his own recognizance just before the "accident". He wasn't being chased at all....... The cops dash cam just happened to be on for something unrelated. The dude was just haulin the mail(I guess cuz he was mad that they took away his 15yr old girl friend) and shot across a couple lanes of traffic almost into the rear of the cruiser with the dash cam on. He went around him on the burm and lost it and went strait into the culvert and guard rail then into the confounded bridge.

Also he was in a "failure to control his vehicle" accident back on holloween and got a 90 in a 55mph zone speeding ticket 2 weeks later!!!! Hopefully he's learned this time if his body parts still work!!!!

More than likely when he hit the wet grass and couldnt steer :)

Lucky for him the girls dad was "nice" a 19 year old caught with my 15 yr old child would hope the cop would arrest him

I can kind of understand if he was running in order not to get caught. But he was must of been one of those guys that that's the only girl he can get so he must not be that bright anyway

This is precisely the reason, and the only reason why insurance rates on these cars were always so high and will continue to be high.

i had a 2.8 camaro and when sitting down to work out a quote the agent had listed a "high performance" surcharge.   i tried to argue that there was no way by any stretch of the imagination that a 2.8 v-6 was "high performance."   She wouldn't hear it----because it's a camaro, it's "high performance" regardless of engine.

So if the 2.8 v-6 is in a cavalier, or celebrity or s-10 it's not "high performance", but if in a camaro it is?

B.S.

That applies to 2.5 L4 powered F bodies as well. because it is classed as a "sports car."

I think the only thing I've ever driver that was slower than an Iron Duke F body was a 1986 S10 Blazer 4x4 with an Iron Duke, automatic, A/C and PS.

Needless to say, 0-60 was measured with a CALENDAR.  :D

Maybe, but i was getting about 27mpg with my 2.8 v-6, so it would not surprise me if the iron duke could get 30 or more with a 5sp manual;  i think they were rated as 32mpg.
i should have never sold it.

2) The insurance companies go by VIN # when determining what is supposedly "high performance" or not.
