Anyone have any suggestions for mirrors that can mount on the front fender?
No doors = No mirrors = No tow boat...

Need to tow boat... anyone have any experience or suggestions for mirror that would mount on the upper fender area nearest the cab?

I'm not up to date on Jeeps but I think someone makes mirrors for them that clip on to the hinge area for when they pull the doors off. Might be something you could adapt onto your Jimmy.
-
Go to a camper supply place, they might have some NOS clamp on fender mirrors left over from the 70's.
-
How about the newer style dumbo that goes on our trucks anyway, fits the contour of the fender, just a thought...
-
Just a thought but if you run that roll bar to the windshield then you can mount something to that almost like the ones that mount to the top of door
-
Early 60's ford cars have fender mounted mirrors they aren't very big though im not sure if they would help enough

I just bid on this mirror, would be cool to find a similar one...

NAPA is bringing in one that looks like this one to see if it will work for my application.

Which is like the one in the center of this photo

These are interesting... looks the top bracket is actually bolted to the hood?

Check out this old bolt on truck mirror...

That might work...

These are on eBay too...

Why get bolt ons? You can Jeep mirrors too that you can mount to the A pillar
-
I'm liking this one, it looks well built, real tough and if those tiles are standard 12" square tiles then I'm guessing that mirror is a about 8" in diameter?

Anyone agree?

I'm open to suggestions... I prefer something battle worthy, as in heavy duty or well built or both... something old is just as good as something new, in fact I'd rather find something cool just for the personality aspect.
The fan on the truck is off a 1972 Cadillac Edorado with the 500 cubic inch engine just because I was told the Engineers at GM designed it to pull the most air of all the fans they made... seems to work, my 454 never goes over 180 degrees
I really like the above truck mirror, looks real stout and the length is adjustable.

Here's another old truck mirror. Ad says it has 5" round head and 9" arm

if you're wanting something battle worthy, look for a kind that have a stalk that will fold away when hit or drug on something, like dumbos do... I like the last set, looks like 60-66 truck mirrors.
-
All of the mirrors you showed look cool, but they all look a little small for towing.
-
Here's some Without a tripod mount.. you could mount this one right at the back edge of the fender.

Here's a Jeep Safari Mirror... shouldn't be hard at all to make a mount on the truck for this one. Might could attach the mount you make to one of the door hinge bolt holes. It could also come out from the top of the windshield and hang down.

For what it's worth, these would be my choice. BTW, sweet looking blazer!! That thing is awesome!

I had some peep mirrors like that, I couldn't use them to even back up my truck. Also they wouldn't stay in adjustment they wiggled loose, and no way to tighten it up. I wouldn't suggest using them unless you were like me just trying to avoid Johnny Law.

***Update***
The mirror I ordered from NAPA came in tonight so I mounted to the fender. Just took her for a teast drive and it works great.
Now that I have this one installed I'll order the second one for the other side...
From the front, the green painters tape is temporary till I make some gaskets...

From the back...

New chains. After pulling a stuck truck about a week ago I decided I never wanted to mess with too short of chains again or piecing two long ones together so I picked up a bout a 20' with hooks already installed for $20.00 at the local swap meet, rust came free...

Spare tire is a 35" Bogger, and spare wheel is a highly polished, high quality slotted mag wheel, so it's chained and locked to the roll bar. Shiny side is down to help protect it.

Dash is kind of rough, I was going to make it real nice but after being rear-ended I kind of lost interest in cherrying it out...
My son made this tool box for me and to keep it from sliding out I have a small piece of rope tied to the 4x4 shifter and the handle of the tool box. I turn it the other way when I drive down the road.
The steering wheel nut is finger tight, sometimes I remove it and lock it to the chain as a part of my alarm system.
Gauges and wiring are all accessible as are the toggle switches. I only have 6 toggle switches right now but plenty of room for more...
The handle on the blinker knob broke in half but the wire for the Cruise Control was still hooked up so instead of cutting the wire or letting the broken end dangle I fixed it myself with some clear plastic tubing and two hose clamps.
Don't ever waste your time with cheap gauges... Need some polish on those toggle switches...
A work in progress...
:)

That mirror looks pretty good! I wasn't sure how it'd look
-
Heck yeah I didn’t think you would have a truck that was functional mike but you got me there nice work
-
Are you not worried about the chain scuffing your wheel?
-
Looks to me like you have enough chain in there to pass through the steering wheel where it sits. Then you can go on and tighten that steering before the wheel comes off in your hands. :D
-
Those look good. Black would match the truck better though.
