Had these puppies surface mounted, but decided to recess them for better looks and functionality. Here are some pics taken tonight.
Haven't been on the board much, finally had some free time and something to contribute...lol
-
They look real good.

Very nice! Nice way of mounting as well. I have mine surface mounted, but this looks very nice!
If you want to see mine, it is in my 198-Everything thread in the Members Rides. :) Didn't want to post pictures and thread jack. Mine still needs a little work. I need to get a fuel gauge, and repaint the bezel on my speedo/tach. The black is chipping.

Those look really nice! I like it :)
-
hate to say it Jeff, but I like this version MUCH better.

bad ass

looks awesome good work
-
That looks reallly slick.
-
I like the looks of this a lot. Wanna do mine? Lol....Super clean look.

Nicest install of aftermarket gauges I've seen. Did you make your own brackets?
-
Wow, that looks incredible! A tach and a full set of Autometer's is on the list of things to-do this winter. I was gonna go with a Covan's panel but after seeing your work, this is impressive and a lot less money. My fab skills are weak though.
-
it most definately does look great I love it.
-
Thanks for all the kind words guys.
Yes, I did design and make the brackets...and will likely have more made as there has been a lot of interest.
The install did take some time, but overall, it was pretty easy and can be done with your typical garage tools.

I see the wires for the turn signals gonna tie them into the circuit on back of the factory setup or what?
I'd love to do it and mount aftermarket gauages in there just don't want to loose the signal lights in dash.
-
Verrrrry nice!
-
I am using LED signals in the factory location.

Very well laid out article, very informative and step by step. Will be very useful for anyone interested in doing this build with their gauges....
