I have a carburetor here that was used for maybe a day, then the ear of the flange broke off(overtightened). I was wondering if one of ya'll could weld it back together for me. I was told that it needs to be bolted down to the intake flange then welded back together. Nobody around my area can weld aluminum and I don't have $110 for a new one. Let me know if one of ya'll could help me out with this. And let me know how much you charge for the repair. I'll post a pic if needed.

ALWAYS torque in an X pattern. What kinda carb is it?
-
It was a 670 street avenger.

were you at team?

I can weld aluminum. I'm in N.H.

I'm in Texas. I'll post a pic soon so you guys can see if it's even repairable.

As long as it’s not shattered it’s doable. It also has to be perfect (flush) or it will scream due to a vacuum leak

Without a pic I am kinda shootin in the breeze here. I would bolt it down before welding the top side. Then weld the bottom and either have it machined, or do some precision grinding, and filling.

Sounds good. That's what I was thinking.

Just so you guys know, I didn't do that JB Weld on there. My buddy was convinced that he could fix it and this is what he came up with. I nearly peed my pants laughing when I saw it. The parts didn't even line up. I'll take better shots of it if you guys need me to. I was gonna sandblast(actually planned to use glass bead) the JB weld off of it.

Take the base plate off and you can try to chip or blast the jb off. But that's what you would want to send me or blaz it should only be about 6 bucks in shipping

I'll take it apart and blast it tomorrow. I'll PM you Irish_Alley since you're a little closer. Thanks guys.

Wow. it looks like you'll be into the bore of that port by the time you vee it out for the weld. Tig weld, Irish?
-
Yup

What size Carb? I used to have some Holley pieces laying around.
I also have a 800 double pumper I am selling.
