Hey all,
I'm originally from NY and moved down to Mobile, Alabama to get a job last year when the job market wasn't so hot. I now work for Northrop Grumman in Pascagoula, MS as a Ship Builder / Electrician working on a Fiber Optic crew.
The thing I enjoy most about being down here is all the older vehicles that are still on the road and driven daily.
On September 20th, I'll be a new owner of a 1981 Chevy 1 ton Crew cab, 454, a granny geared 4 speed, with 86,000 miles. I am going to use this truck primarily for hauling my old turbo "Shelby" Dodges and looking into buying a camper so the family and I can finally take some camping trips. I was able to get the truck for 1500 dollars because the seller and I have a common interest with our Harley Davidson's. The C30 is in great shape with the only problem being a rear main seal leak and needing a new clutch (the result of the RMS leaking). I don't have a lot of experience with the old big trucks so I'll be looking for you experts for some much needed help.
Here is the picture of my new truck... (http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv181/TwistedNoodle_1/Big%20Bitch/MynewHauler.jpg)
