Title: oil pressure sender
Post by: 74chev4x4 on September 05, 2010, 11:07:56 am
replacing the oil pressure sender on my truck, mine has a brass line that plugs into it and is just a small threaded fitting that threads in near the dist. on the back of the intake. went to the parts store to get a new one and they say its the one that a wire plugs into and the thing is huge looks like a bell or something.  I told them its for the gauge and they only show one that a wire plugs into and looks nothing like mine. Anyone else ever had this problem.

If you need the brass line look out in the isle of the parts store near the gauges its a whole kit the crush sleeve and fitting. If you want the gauge its there also lol. Did you tell them it was an after market gauge?

ok fixed it, just needed a stupid .20 cent flare nut and thats done, still leaking oil on the pass side, leaks on to the trans case drive line, not sure what is on this side that would leak checked valve covers and everything else I could think of. Doesn't seem to be from the rear main.  One of these days I will get it all fixed, thanks for the help everyone!

Wipe everything clean on the pass side and go from there. It might be easier to trace it that way. Remember that the fan can blow the oil when it is leaking and give you a false location.
