I am tring to hook up the cable that goes from my gas pedal to the carb. I took it off months ago and now i can seem to figure it out. The cable just seems to long. It looks like it should just go right through the fire wall and straight to the carb. I have everything hooked up right on the inside of the cab, when i run it from there to the carb it about 8" to long.

i didn't think this was right either, but apparently, it is. Besides it's a cable---it doesn't really care how it's arranged just as long as it can slide freely inside the housing.

Mine looks like stewarts photo n my 78, my 87 was the same too.

P.S.
1) The 350 is gone, now replaced with a 305 and 2G carb, but the throttle cable is still in the exact, same position.
2) i DO NOT use this type of air cleaner anymore----i only used temporarily it because i got it with another car i bought i and i thought it would be easier to tune the carb this way.
i feel this air cleaner is a potential fire hazard.
