Title: Installing Rear Window
Post by: Harmon on September 08, 2010, 04:58:16 pm
Just had truck painted and got a new seal for my rear window.  Is there any trick to putting the rear window back in?

I've always been told using a piece of like 1/4in rope in the top part of the rubber and one peron on the inside pulls the rope slowly while someone in the bed presses slightly on the glass! I did mine the hard way though I didn't use a rope I don't recomend howi did it lol.

I saw a very good demonstration of this on the "speed" channel 2-3 months ago. can't remember what show; maybe you can search their website. Btw, it did involve a rope.

Did my rear window the same way they show in the video. Worked like a champ. Tried the same thing on my front window, and ended up breaking it. So I took it to the glass shop for the replacement. I figured if the next one was gonna break, it'd be on their dime not mine.
