They typically are close.  If they don't hit you are probably fine...

How close are they?  I'd be fine with 1/4"  .

i would say they are about the thicknes of a quarter between the rim and the caliber if ever that far apart...

You got steel or aluminum wheels?   I don't know the answer but maybe somebody else will chime in, I would say that would be fine AS LONG AS the wheels never ever flexed.   But they will flex some and i don't know which (aluminum or steel) would flex more, or if it would even be a problem.  I would assume it't a problem until told otherwise.  If it was me, I wouldn't like it just because I don't know about the wheels.

Why don't you actually look to see what's rubbing and where by jacking it up and spinning the wheel? All anyone can do here is guess. Wheel weight? Wasted wheel bearing? Caliper falling off? etc etc

i can see where its rubbing, i done jacked it up to see now im left guessing why its so close to the rim and what i can do to fix the problem besides going to bigger rims. i posted this topic to see if anybody else had this problem that might be able to help in any little way thanks for everybodys help....

Is this truck or the wheels new to you?  I'm just wondering whether its the geometry of your wheels or some other problem.  It can be close without ever touching if everything is pretty tight.  I had an occassion once where bad ball joints turned a close fit with an aluminum wheel to scraping and gouging when the wheels were turned.  Is it equally close on both sides?  Would a wheel spacer get it out of the way?

What kind of wheels are they?  Factory, aftermarket?  If they are hitting, what are they hitting the actual rim?
You won't need "bigger" wheels, you need wheels with better spacing on them.

Where did they come from?

yeah the truck and rims are all new to me they are micky thompson rims the tires are 35x12.5x15 so im guessing the rims are 12.5 deep i dont know if wheel spacers would work or not i have two that spacers that came off my minitruck i had im sure if they will work i will try and see. i dont like them cause i hear alot of bad stories about them falling off while driving so they kind of worry me but its worth a try...thanks for your help...

If they're slip on style spacers, i would scrap them. The bolt on styles are a different story, depending on who you talk to.

Is it one particular part of your caliper hitting the wheel? if so, could you maybe grind it down a bit so it gives better clearance?

Or maybe you have a wheel bearing showing you some excessive wear? When it's jacked up can you grab the top and bottom of the tire and flex it any back and forth on the wheel bearing?

Sounds like the wheel is definitely too close. But there are a few fixes. It's just a matter of knowing that everything is as it should be before you start curing symptoms w/o addressing the true problem.

im gonna look into the wheel bearings on my next day if its bad i will replace them if not i might try to grind them the last resort will be the wheel spacers if not i will take it to the tire shop and see what they can find out for me there is a couple that i really trust here in town to do the right job...Thanks for all the help..
