should be picking this beast up very very soon. (ill post pictures when i do)
whats the best methodology going to be for lowering this thing, not horribly far, still want some ground clearance.
would it be better to swap to half ton stuff and go from there as that would make for much improved ride quality?
this things gonna be a cruiser / sometime tow pig. no bags, just cheap stupid fun.
it seats 37, dont want em bangin heads off the roof when were going down the highway.

mo better pics to come, i gotta get some battree's for the camera.
cap 4 - 5 inches of clearance or so. if we wanna get real buck wild we can bag it eventually. as it sits right now you could camp under it.
you know the rear bumpers on these things are the tanks for the air compressor setup? one of the local scrapping experts guessed its weight at around 500 pounds. its still got the brackets from where the "wheels" mounted to get it onto the train tracks. plasma cutter is gonna get a workout.
900 bucks out the door, tbi 350/th400. 81k actual miles.
-
Not a bad looking crew you got there.
-
4-5" of clearance is A LOT for a Crew. I would get spindles and springs for it and then do the normal hanger or flip on the rear. Belltech makes spindles for these.
-
cap i looked on summit, they dont have squat really for an 87 r30, but all the goodies for an 86 c30. same thing?
-
Same thing.

♥ you man.

still kind of all over the place with this thing. if anyone was wondering theres a rumor going around that western chassis has given up on these things, and thats not the case.
on another note, my fuel tank, sending unit, fuel pump, motor plates, wiring harness, and transmission adapter are all ordered or have arrived. tracking down a z06 cam and springs and we'll just about be ready to rock on the drivetrain. replaced the passenger side vent window with a working one, waiting on a drivers side. ordered door locks that ill actually have the keys to, and popped a few of the door dents out.
bed bolt removal is a breeze with a plasma cutter ;D

hey roadrage, i got a 77 crew cab and was wanting to do the same just a minor drop, remove some springs and lowered coils up front. was the summit setup for the 77-87 3/4 tons? nice potential.
