Title: REAR END SWAP
Post by: Monkeyman73 on September 24, 2010, 01:24:23 AM
My rear diff is going out and i would like to replace it  but would like to change it with one  that has higher gears that would alow me to have better freeway speed.
What can i use with a 3 speed tranny, or also was thinking of going with the 4 speed, what can work with this set up?

Don't know , I have a 3 speed Saginaw trans and to me it looks like the origanal rear diff. its a 1973 chevy custom.

without knowing, you may swap rear ratios with the same ratio.  ???

If the tag is still there it should be on it. If not pop the cover off and count the teeth on the ring and the pinion.
