Title: Fender compatability question
Post by: bigfosty on September 25, 2010, 01:43:04 am
There are some fenders for sale off of a 1983 Checy Silverado. I am 99.9% sure they will fit my 1975 K-10, but I want to make sure before I call. Anyone know for sure? Also, is the bulb and all that stuff the same for the sidemarker light? Thanks guys.

P.S.- I am thinking about putting the original style molding back on, will these fenders affect that? I know they use different styles, just curious if I can use the 73-80 style with these or if the side marker lights will get in the way?

They will bolt to the cab but. The hoods are different the hood hinges are and the front grill headlight bezel so if you want to make it work you have to change it all

If you want to use 83 fenders on a 75 you will need to cut holes in the cowl to fit the hood hinges, and the cowl vent panel. You will need to swap out the core support, inner fenders, hood, complete grill assembly, and use the 81 or newer wiper arm transmission assembly, along with the fenders.

73-80 and 81-87 (91) are totally different.
