Title: LT1 + T56
Post by: 86gmc23 on October 01, 2010, 03:33:19 pm
Hey guys was searching around Craigslist and came across an add stating a LT1 and T56 for sale for $700. I emailed the guy and he said both ran before being removed. I want to go take a look at it, is there anyway to tell its a T56?

My 86 Sierra had a 305/TH400 combo in it, how hard would it be to throw in the LT1/T56 combo?

Just reread his post and saw it wrote "LT1 5.7 LTR motor complete". What is the LTR?

I believe he means 5.7 liter.  They are just abbreviating in the listing.

I doubt the lt1 GM t56 will work on a ford.

If it has 6 speeds and is mated to a LT1 its a T56, there was only one manual offered behind a LT1.
