I was just wondering if any one has done it or is it easier to just replace it.
mine works fine it just leaks like crazy.

If it is leaking down low replace the seal if there is no side to side play in the box. You should be able to borrow the pitman arm puller through loan a tool at Autozone. It is a fairly easy job to do.

haven't really noticed any play in it...I'll check it out tonight.
Thanks!!

Get someone to lightly turn the wheel back and forth, that will tell you. You may have a high pressure hose leaking and not the box. Either fix is fairly easy. Good Luck

If its the lower seal you can just replace it--its not super easy but not terrible. If you have the money I'd be tempted to buy a new box as I've had bad luck with them still leaking a little after replacing it. I assume because of wear that causes the shaft to eat up the seal. I've really only had one experience with this though so I could be wrong.

checked it out last night...its leaking all over and has a lot of play in it so i think I'll go ahead and replace it.
