Title: blazer rear springs - k10??
Post by: lpapa15 on October 08, 2010, 04:13:21 pm
I am removing a 4" lift from a 78 blazer.  I am taking everything that came with the super lift.  My question is with the rear springs.  Will the interchange with my 79 k10?

Yes, but plan ahead.
Blazers have a 52" rear spring.
Pick up's came with both 52" springs and 56" springs.
If your K10 came with 56" springs you would have to move the rear spring hanger forward. It's not hard to do, just measure it before you start the project do you can plan accordingly.

After moving it. You might have drive shaft issues due to moving the axle by then you might have wished you just bought rear springs or blocks

Good point, I forgot about that part. When I did mine I had to have my driveshaft redone anyway because I was switching over to a 205 so it was no big deal to have it shortened.

If I removed the front springs u bolts shocks, rear blocke and u bolds would my rear springs work fine.  The blazer is year 78 and my short bed k10 79.  I want to avoid crime line / shaft issues.

Yeah if u use Your springs off You 79 then the only thing You will be changing is the front. We were under the impression that the blazer had lifted rear springs
