Title: c-20 14 bolt
Post by: snibook7537 on October 23, 2010, 10:49:09 pm
Hello, just a question I was thinking about, I have a V3500 and it has a 14 bolt full floater. I *think* all 1 tons have full floaters but I am unsure about 3/4 tons, I know some didn't but could you from the factory get a c-20 with a full floating rear end or even a k-20? Also if so how prevalent compared to semi floats were they? Thanks Vince

I don't know how prevalent they were, but yes. I have a 77' C20 with a 14 bolt rear, 4.10 gears. Oh and btw, I LOVE IT!

All 3/4 tons up to about 82 ish had full floating rears. After that all 3/4 tons got semi floating rears. Only 1 tons got full floaters.

the 7.4L received the full float rear ends in 3/4 Tons for the Suburbans and trucks up to 87.  My 85 C20 has one and I had a 85 Suburban I parted out with one.

Excellent news, I am in the future (some time) looking for a 87 454 Silverado with all the goodies like pwr windows and the like and I want to put a sm 465 into it, but didn't want to have to put a full floater from a 1 ton.

Thanks much guys
