Title: 79 k10 upgrade from 91 suburban
Post by: lpapa15 on October 24, 2010, 02:17:40 pm
I am thinking of upgrading my 79 k10 shortbed.  It has a stock 350, manual 4 speed.  I have an offer for a 91 suburban with the specs below and an wondering if the specs on the suburban would be too much for my k10 shortbed.  I want more of a daily driver, freeway and off road performance truck.  My k10 350 has never been rebuilt so i am expecting that in the next couple of years it will need a big make over on the engine and i might as well do everything at once.  here is the specs.  please give me your opinions.  I have no idea what this would do to my rig.  i appreciate it.

 91 suburban - 700r4 transmission, 208 transfer case, dana 44 front, 12 bolt posi rear, tbi 350

Not quite sure what your question is. Are you asking if the drivetrain will work on your truck?

Sounds like someone already did some parts swapping on the Suburban. The Dana 44/12 bolt  are not stock on a 91.
